Dr. Matthew L. Gimmel’s research interests include the systematics and taxonomy of Coleoptera, primarily small-bodied forms, including Phalacridae (shining mold beetles), Cryptophagidae (silken fungus beetles), and Melyridae (soft-winged flower beetles).

He is also managing editor of The Coleopterists Bulletin.
