Invertebrate Zoology

By any measure, invertebrates are the dominant group of animals on the planet. With tens of millions of species and ranging from mountain tops to the deepest depths of the ocean floor, invertebrates are a pivotal part of global ecosystems.

The Invertebrate Zoology Department is focused on documenting the diversity of life in our region and around the globe. We are actively conducting original research, describing new species, and tracking change in diversity and habitats over time.
