SB Museum of Natural History Hosts Virtual Art Show Fundraiser
From Friday, October 2 through Sunday, October 11, the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History will host an online art show and sale featuring over 70 unique contemporary pieces from 14 local celebrated artists. The artists have generously agreed to donate 50–100% of sales to support Museum programs and exhibits.
Artists include Ralph Waterhouse, Steve Curry, Rick Garcia, Ray Hunter, Nina Warner, Ann Sanders, Ellie Freudenstein, Craig Nelson, Thomas Van Stein, Ann Shelton Beth, Nancy Davidson, Camille Dellar, Derek Harrison, and Wyllis Heaton.
The art show and sale is chaired by local gallery owner and friend of the Museum Diane Waterhouse. Her husband and featured artist Ralph Waterhouse shared, “I am looking forward to the upcoming online exhibition which will be offering beautiful Santa Barbara landscapes by Santa Barbara's finest local artists. It is a pleasure to support the Museum and all the wonderful educational programs that they offer for children. The Museum of Natural History is a Santa Barbara treasure."
A sell-out event, the Museum’s annual art show dinner and weekend exhibition typically raises $50,000. At a time when community support and donations are critical, the Museum has revamped the show into an online version with artwork to be sold through its new online store at sbnature.org/art. Both local pickup and shipping are available.
